How Can rashes On The Hands And Arms Be Treated?

I have had poison oak that is finally going away. Now I have a new? rash in the same areas- hands and wrists and arms. I have a known sulfa allergy that produces this type of itchy, painful/burning rash on the back of my hands, fingers and forearms. It does not ooze like the poison oak did when scratched. It looks like it s under the surface of my skin...I have been very tired and stressed and on Lexapro substitute medicine for the last two weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms can be related to a sulfa allergy that you mentioned in the query.

I recommend using Zyrtec to reduce the reaction of the system.

I also recommend using Calamine lotion for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
